Mr John has a particular interest in day case surgery. He has performed well over a 1000 hernia operations of which at least 500 have been under local anaesthetic.

Selected Career Highlights

Starting surgical training in London at the London and St Bartholomew’s hospital.
Continued training at St George’s Hospital as well as the Joyce Green Hospital, Kent and then at Kings College Hospital, London.
Further training and research in Bath and South West before starting in at the RUH hospital, Bath in 2000.
Became Associate Specialist in 2008.
Involved in Deanery training courses for junior surgeons at the RUH hospital in Bath.
Educational supervisor and appraiser and member of LNC.
