      We provide personal, local care — right in the heart of your community.

      Lawn Medical Centre opened in January 2004 and undertook a major refurbishment by the landlord in 2023. A 2 partner GP practice with over 9000 registered patients, rated CQC good.

      The surgery offers a range of GP services and has an ‘on site’ pharmacist. There is no patient car parking on site but the Community Centre next door has plenty of parking and is available free of charge.

      There is a bus route from the town centre, as well as easy access from the train station, via bus or taxi.

      Dr James Pearson

      BMedSci (Hons) BM BS (Hons) MRCGP

      James graduated from The University of Nottingham Medical School in 2009. After completing his junior doctor years he gained additional experience in Urology. Following this he moved to New Zealand where he worked in an urgent care setting. Returning to the UK, James completed his GP training in the South West.

      Dr Tom Cahill

      MBBS, DRCOG, DA, MRCGP

      Tom qualified in 1988 from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London. He spent a few years in hospital medicine, including a year in New Zealand, before switching from anaesthetics to General Practice.

      He was a partner at Frome Medical Practice for 27 years, specialising in musculoskeletal medicine, minor ops, vasectomies, headaches, and clinical trials. He recently stepped down to work independently in general practice and vasectomy care.

      Tom has volunteered as a doctor on expeditions, including trips to Everest Base Camp and Kerala, India.

      He is married with three children and enjoys all sports, especially golf and tennis.

      Dr Chris Pocock

      MBBS, MRCS, MRCGP

      Chris qualified from King’s College London medical school in 2002 and initially trained as a surgeon in London. Having gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and a period as a specialist registrar in Orthopaedics, he decided on a career in General Practice and has been a GP Partner at Hanham Health since 2012.

      Chris has been working as a vasectomy surgeon since 2008 and is Clinical Director for the vasectomy service covering Bristol in addition to working for the Independent Health Group.

      He is married with three children and loves playing organ and keyboard in a local R&B band, tennis and running and completed his first marathon in 2023.
